Candy Williams, born on February 23, 1957, in New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away on July 7, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Her life, marked by love, laughter, and unwavering faith, has left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Candy was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Joe (Grampsie) and Mable (Gong-Gong) Strome, as well as her parents, Charles and Carol Yount. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted husband, Ron, with whom she shared nearly 51 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children: Jeremy (Stephanie), Mike (Tawni), Lindsey (Thaddeus) Berry, and Lauren (Zack) Griffieth. Her family expanded to include 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, the true joy of her life: Taja Berry, Cody Webb, TJ (Mel) Berry, Thalia Berry, Audrey (Logan) Fakes, Regan (Dakota) White, Peyton (Adrien) Francisco, Yasseel Samboy, Brayden Cable, Landon Williams, McKenzie Williams, Tayana Berry, Preston Cable, Finn Williams, Andalin Berry, Bo White, Grayson White, Mateo Francisco, Steph Berry, and Makoa Francisco.
Candy graduated from Tecumseh High School/JVS in 1975, equipped with a cosmetology license that allowed her to contribute to the family business of doing hair. Though she held various jobs throughout her life, her true passion lay in her work with Southland Christian Church and Lifeline Christian Mission. The friendships she made and the work she completed during her many trips to Haiti filled her heart of service. Her dedication to her faith and community was a cornerstone of her life.
A woman of many interests, Candy found immense happiness in spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was decorating their homes, going shopping, or enjoying lunch/dinner dates. Her love for the beach was well-known, and it was a place where she found peace and joy.
Candy was a beacon of kindness, compassion, and thoughtfulness, embodying the heart of Jesus in every aspect of her life. Her friends and family often spoke of her as a light for the Lord, always serving humbly and with grace. Her life was a testament to her unwavering faith and the love she spread to all who crossed her path.
Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Brock Cancer Center and Sentara Norfolk General Oncology and ICU for their kindness, care and support during her illness.
Candy Williams will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by her family, including her siblings Cindy (Greg) Roan, Cheri (Roger) Phipps, Carrie (Scott) Otis, Christy Yount, and Bonnie (Ken) Belles, her daughters-in law, Sunshine Williams and Maggie Webb, her many nieces and nephews, and friends near and far. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire generations to come.
