Candy was the cherished daughter of Caitlyn and Sheldon Downs, who instilled in her the values of resilience and compassion. A proud graduate of Ohio State University, Candy's journey through life was anything but conventional. From a young age, she carved a path uniquely her own, one that was filled with both challenges and triumphs. Despite the difficulties she faced, Candy emerged as a leader, guiding others with her strength and determination. Her marriage to Darkness Arutozaki was a testament to a deep, abiding love that transcended life's adversities. Their union brought forth four beautiful children: Candeisha, Jacqueline, Daniel, and Anthony, who were the lights of Candy's life. Her role as a mother was one she cherished above all, nurturing her children with unwavering devotion and boundless love. Candy's interests were as dynamic as her personality. She found joy in the crack of a baseball bat, the swish of a basketball net, and the strategic challenges of gaming. Her leadership skills shone brightly, both in her role within a community she helped steer and in her everyday life, where she led with a balance of toughness and occasional kindness that endeared her to those around her. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darkness, Candy's departure leaves a void that will be felt deeply by her surviving children and family.
