Candace Cherry February 27, 1972 – April 27, 2026 With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Candace Cherry on April 27, 2026. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, on February 27, 1972, Candace was a beacon of light, love, and laughter, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. After a courageous battle with congestive heart failure, she has been called to rest with Our Most High Divine Creator of all Life. Daughter of Ozzie Cherry, Candace was raised with love and support in Monroe. She attended Minnie Ruffin Elementary, Parkview Elementary, Lee Junior High, and graduated from Neville High School. Candace furthered her education at Northeast Louisiana University (NLU), where she excelled in academics, cheerleading, and sports, with a particular passion for basketball. Her love for learning and natural talent shone brightly throughout her educational journey. Candace's professional life was as diverse and dynamic as she was. She worked and retired from General Motors but also left her mark as an actress, music producer, and Executive Herbalist. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to create Herban Reign, a new herbal line that reflects her dedication to health and wellness. Her Eastern Star membership was a testament to her commitment to community service and uplifting others. A woman of many talents and interests, Candace found joy in traveling, learning new skills, studying history, and spending cherished moments with her children and grandchildren. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and leaves behind her loving mother, Ozzie Cherry; sisters KeKe Anderson, Kimberly Wilson, and Shonett Jeffries; daughters Kiree and Kerri Carter, Kayla Glass, and Kennedy Morgan; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and countless others who were touched by her grace. Candace's quick, witty smile and infectious humor brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. Her creative writing and artistic talents were inspirational, and she had a unique ability to cultivate and nurture others across various subjects. Her legacy as an exceptional artist and friend will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A private funeral service for Candace will be held on May 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Whitney’s. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Herban Reign, c/o Kayla Glass, Kiree and Kerri Carter, continuing Candace's legacy of healing and wellness. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has offered their love and support during this difficult time. Special thanks to Smith Funeral Services of Monroe, Louisiana, for their compassionate care and service. Candace Cherry's life was a testament to love, resilience, and creativity. Though she has departed from this earthly life, her spirit remains eternally with us, inspiring and guiding us forward. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
