August 9, 1957 — March 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness and gentle hearts that we announce the passing of Canary Taylor, a beloved soul who left us peacefully on March 23, 2026. Born on August 9, 1957, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Canary brought warmth and joy to all who were blessed to know her. Her journey, marked by love, creativity, and an unwavering spirit, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Canary was the cherished daughter of Patricia Taylor, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her grandmother, Canary Barnes; great-grandmother, Neily Taylor; baby brother, Jerome Taylor; and the light of her life, Kenny Mack. Despite these losses, Canary's heart remained boundless, always making room for others with her signature greeting, "Hey Cuz." Surviving her are her devoted sisters, Leonora Trapp (Lester Trapp), Natasha, and Kecia Taylor. She leaves behind a legacy of love with her nieces and nephew: Leonora, Ashley, Brittney, Sierra, Jessica, Justus, Charlie, Calen, Channon, Cameron, Kennedy, and Barry. Her family extends further to five great-nephews and one great-niece: Mekhi, Breydon, Taylor, Milo, Baby SJ, and Selenia. Canary also touched the lives of an extended family and numerous friends, whom she affectionately called "Cuz," weaving a tapestry of connection and community that spanned far and wide. Canary's life was a celebration of simplicity and creativity. Her love for coloring and drawing was a reflection of her vibrant spirit, and her joyous singing to Usher's tunes often filled her world with happiness. She embraced life with an open heart, effortlessly forming connections with those around her. Her genuine kindness and warmth made her a beloved figure in her community, where she was truly known and loved. Canary’s presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to illuminate the lives of those she touched. Her kindness, warmth, and ability to make everyone feel like family will be fondly remembered and cherished. As we gather to honor her life, we hold close the memories of her love that will forever echo in our hearts. A service to celebrate Canary's life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mikal's Funeral Parlor, located at 30 N Pennsylvania Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Family, friends, and all who knew her are invited to join in remembering her remarkable journey. In the words of her family: "Thank you for the life of Canary. Thank you for the love she gave so freely and the joy she found in the simple things. It's not a goodbye, it's a 'Hey Cuz, I'll see you later.'" Rest in peace, dear Canary. Your love and light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
