CAMILLIA DANSBY BRYRANT

March 21, 1934 — June 26, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved matriarch, Camillia Dansby Bryant, who departed this world on June 26, 2026, at the age of 92. Camillia passed away quietly at her cherished home, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Camillia was born on March 21, 1934, in the close-knit community of Philadelphia, Mississippi. She was the treasured daughter of Joe Mack and Molly Dansby, and the youngest of six siblings. Her childhood was filled with laughter and love, shared with her older sisters Fay, Jean, Pat, Ann, and Jo. Growing up in a large and loving family, Camillia learned the values of compassion, resilience, and unity, which she carried with her throughout her life. Camillia's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, dedication, and service. She was blessed with three wonderful children—Cynthia Curry, Lisa Bryant, and Joe Bryant Jr.—each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into raising her children with strength and unwavering support. Though she faced the heart-wrenching loss of two of her beloved daughters, Lisa Monte Bryant and Cynthia Ann Curry, and her dear son Joe Henrey Bryant Jr., Camillia's spirit remained unbroken. She found solace in the treasured memories they left behind and the enduring legacy they created. As a grandmother to Chandler and Phelan, and a great-grandmother to little Abe, Camillia's love reached across generations. She delighted in the laughter and innocence of her grandchildren and great-grandchild, cherishing every moment she spent with them. Her gentle guidance and boundless love will forever remain etched in their hearts. Camillia was a woman of grace and quiet strength, whose kindness touched everyone she met. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and heard, and her home was always a sanctuary of warmth and comfort. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Camillia's remarkable life. While we gather in a small circle of family, we know that her memory will be celebrated by all those whose lives she touched. As we say goodbye to our cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, we hold onto the lessons she taught us and the love she so freely gave. Camillia Dansby Bryant's journey on this earth may have ended, but her spirit will forever guide us, lighting our path with the warmth of her enduring love. Camillia is survived by her daughter Cynthia Curry, her son Joe Bryant Jr., her five sisters Fay, Jean, Ann, Pat, and Jo, her two grandchildren, and her great-grandchild. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her.
