Cameron Randyll Alston, a cherished member of our community, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, enveloped by the love of his family. Born on April 14, 1958, in Charleston, SC, Cameron was the beloved son of Mary Alston and the late Randyll Alston. Throughout his life, Cameron embodied kindness, warmth, and a deep sense of community, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Cameron was a devoted father to his son, Samuel Alston, and a proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren, including DJ Alston. He also rejoiced in the lives of his two great-grandchildren, whose presence brought him immense joy. Cameron's family extended to his siblings, Eric Alston and Cornell Alston, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. Though predeceased by his father, Randyll Alston, and his dear friend Elaine Spann, Cameron’s spirit remains alive in the hearts of those he loved.
A man of faith, Cameron was an active member of the New Jerusalem Tabernacle of Prayer for All People, Inc. His dedication to serving both his community and his faith was evident in all his endeavors. Sundays were sacred to him, as he spent them in the company of his church family, where his presence was always a source of joy and inspiration.
Cameron had a zest for life that expressed itself through his passion for fishing and football. His infectious humor and ability to bring people together made him the life of any gathering. Cameron had a unique gift for making everyone feel seen and valued. He was never one to rush through a conversation, always taking the time to genuinely inquire about others' well-being and leaving them with a heartfelt wish for a great day.
In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Cameron’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, a testament to Cameron’s spirit of giving and care for the community.
Cameron Randyll Alston will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memory will be eternally cherished and his spirit fondly celebrated by those who had the fortune to share in his journey.
