It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Calvin Lark, who left this world peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on June 14, 1955, in the charming town of Ninety Six, South Carolina, Calvin was a beloved son of the late Rufus Lark Sr and Lenora Binds Lark. His early years in Ninety Six laid the foundation for a life filled with devotion, kindness, and unwavering love for family and friends.
Calvin's life was a testament to the strength and resilience that defined him. He was a man of great character, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many. Calvin will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Janice Lark, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Their union was blessed with a cherished daughter, whose accomplishments and happiness were Calvin's greatest pride. A doting grandfather, Calvin's heart found immense joy in the laughter and innocence of his grandchild.
Calvin is also survived by his siblings, whose bond remained strong throughout the years. His brothers, Rufus (Evelyn) Lark Jr, Jarby Lark, and Alvin Lark, all of Ninety-Six, and Hiriam Robinson of Greenwood, South Carolina, will forever cherish the memories they created together. His sisters, Rosie Lark Harris of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dorothy Lark Butler of Ninety-Six, will hold dear the love and support they shared with their brother.
His legacy extends to a special nephew, James Norman Jr, and a beloved niece, Erica Patterson, along with a host of nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who will miss his presence dearly. Calvin's life was enriched by the relationships he nurtured, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Calvin Lark will be held on August 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Baptist Church in Ninety Six, South Carolina. Family, friends, and all whose lives Calvin touched are invited to join together in remembrance of a life well-lived.
