BV Hutcherson Jr.
June 30, 1940 — April 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of BV Hutcherson Jr., who entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2026, at the age of 85. BV was born on June 30, 1940, in the small, close-knit town of Brownsville, Tennessee, to parents the late Vitalias Hutcherson Sr. and the late Inez (Webb) Hutcherson. He was a man whose life was a testament to dedication, love, and service.
BV was lovingly married to the love of his life, Carolyn Thurmond Hutcherson, for an inspiring 59 years. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering faith. Carolyn and BV's enduring partnership was a beacon of mutual respect and devotion, serving as an example to their family and community.
BV is survived by his cherished family, who were the center of his world. His two daughters, Amanda (Jimmy) Carver and Christie (Mike) Simpson, both of Ripley, TN, carry forward his legacy of love and commitment. His daughter Dianne (Joe Larry) Ferguson also shares in this legacy, ensuring that BV's values continue to flourish. His grandchildren, Lucas Carver, Brooklyn (Justin) Hughes, Kyle Carver, and Lance Simpson, along with his great-grandchildren, Lane Hughes and Case Hughes, were the apples of his eye. He adored them and found immense joy in spending time with them, passing on his wisdom and warmth.
BV's career was marked by a deep commitment to public service. He dedicated most of his professional life to law enforcement, culminating in his esteemed role as Chief Deputy Sheriff of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department. His dedication and integrity left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
A man of faith, BV was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him with a steady hand. BV's teachings and fellowship enriched the lives of many within the congregation, leaving an indelible mark on the community.
BV was a true cowboy at heart, with a deep love for horses and cattle. He found solace in the beauty of the outdoors, often enjoying hunting and fishing. Yet, his greatest joy came from the simple pleasure of being surrounded by his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Anita Chrestman, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the eternal kingdom.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of BV Hutcherson Jr. will be held on April 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by BV are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man whose legacy of love, faith, and dedication will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Grace Baptist Church in BV's memory, ensuring that his spirit of generosity and faith continues to inspire and uplift the community he loved so dearly.
May BV rest in peace, knowing he leaves behind a world made immeasurably better by his presence.
