Burnies a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at Delray Medical Center after an extended illness. Born on May 5, 1941 in Claxton, Georgia, Burnies was the beloved son of Tom Lotus and Effie Lee Mincey. Burnies is predeceased by his parents Tom and Effie Mincey brothers Jake, Nathaniel, and Tommy Lee, sons Eddie, & Kenneth. His spirit, however continues to live on in the hearts of those who survive him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Ella Mae, with whom he shared a beautiful 50-year journey of love and partnership together they raised a family of six children, sister-in-laws Catherine & Jeanette. He was a proud father to Pamela, Tina, Jeffrey, and Bridgette (Dwayne), and a loving grandfather to Wiley, Darvin, Kamirah, Lakia, Latoya, Latasha, Lakeisha, Lashaun, Arrington (Roseline), Shaun and Christopher. His grandchildren and great grandchildren was a source of immense joy and pride, each carrying forward his legacy of kindness and resilience. Burnies was educated at Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia. He dedicated 23 years of his career to Gory Roofing Company, followed by 17 years at Pompano Waste Management. Afterward, he spent another 17 years working as a custodian at St. Andrews School before retiring. His work ethic was unmatched, and he was respected and cherished by colleagues and friends alike. Burnies’s life was a testament to the values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family. His gentle demeanor and warm smile were ever-present, even in the face of life's challenges. His strength and compassion endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be treasured forever. As we celebrate Burnies’s life, we are reminded of the joy he brought into our lives and the legacy of love he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, and forever remembered by those who continue to cherish his memory.
