He was predeceased by his dear sisters and brothers, whose memories he cherished deeply throughout his life. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Ms. Francis, who was his steadfast companion and partner in all things. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, including two cherished grandchildren who brought him endless joy. Burnell was a man of many interests. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was a spirited game of spades or an exciting evening at the slot machines. His love for gambling was matched only by his love for life. He had a remarkable ability to bring laughter into any room with his quick wit and funny anecdotes, brightening the days of everyone around him. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Burnell's life at a service to be held on November 7, 2026, at St. Mary Church, located at 2321 Whitcomb St, Gary, Indiana. The service will begin at 11:00 am, a time to honor the vibrant life of a man who touched so many. In remembrance of Burnell, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor. This gesture would embody Burnell's generous spirit and enduring legacy.
