Bruce M. Keough, beloved father, friend, and community member, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on January 18, 1949, in Ontario, Canada, Bruce was the cherished son of Leo P. Keough and Margaret C. Coady. His birth and upbringing in a home enriched with love and strong values had a profound influence on the compassionate and dedicated man he became.
Bruce was a high school graduate who devoted 60 years of his life to his work as a Ford Registered Tech auto mechanic. His career was spent restoring and maintaining vehicles with the utmost precision, a testament to his diligence and passion for his craft. Bruce retired from the Hot Rod Hotel in Costa Mesa, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and integrity that was admired by colleagues and customers alike.
Bruce had a zest for life that was evident in the joy he found in social gatherings. He was a vibrant presence at Taco Tuesday and the Wednesday night Karaoke Club, where he danced with enthusiasm and shared laughter with friends. His love for music and dance was contagious, and his spirit uplifted those around him. Bruce was also a valued member of the Compass Bible Church in Huntington Beach, where he found solace and community in his faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Kennedy, along with many dear friends in the Leisure World retirement community, who will forever cherish the warmth and wisdom he brought into their lives. Bruce's life was a testament to the strength of friendship and the importance of community, and his absence will be deeply felt.
A service to honor Bruce's life will be held on July 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM in Clubhouse 3, Room 4. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life he led.
Bruce’s family wishes to impart a special message: "Bruce taught us very much about being very careful in choosing your POA and who not to have as your doctor at the Health Center." His life lessons and his candid advice will remain with those who knew him, guiding them in making wise decisions.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bruce's memory to a charity of one's choice, as a way to honor his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
Bruce M. Keough lived a life full of love, laughter, and loyalty. His legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
