It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Buck Smith, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who left this world on June 8, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on May 8, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Buck's journey was marked by an unwavering spirit, an infectious sense of humor, and a profound love for his family and community. Buck was the cherished son of Ruth and Bernard Smith, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and a love for life that would guide him through his journey. He was a proud graduate of Oak Hills High School, class of 1986, where he began to cultivate his lifelong passion for sports. His loyalty to the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and University of Cincinnati Basketball was well-known and something he shared enthusiastically with those around him. On September 1, 1995, Buck married the love of his life, Tracy Vanderpool-Smith, in their hometown of Cincinnati. Together, they spent 30 beautiful years building a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Brandon and Morgan, who were the pride and joy of Buck’s life. Buck's legacy is one of love, laughter, and enduring friendships. Known for his quick wit and remarkable ability to make everyone laugh, he had a unique gift for finding humor in life's simplest moments. His presence could light up a room, and his jokes were a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him. An avid sports enthusiast, Buck found joy in the camaraderie of his weekly golf league, where he spent cherished moments with his friends and his son, Brandon. These outings were not just about the game, but about the bonds that were strengthened and the memories that were created on the green. Buck's courage and strength were most evident in his battle with pancreatic cancer, which he faced with the same humor and determination that defined his life. His fight was a testament to his enduring spirit, and he remained an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Tracy, and their two children, Brandon and Morgan, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. Though his life was too short, his impact was profound, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In celebration of Buck's life, a memorial service will be held at [location], on [date], where family and friends will gather to honor a man who brought so much joy to the lives he touched.
