July 22, 1968 — March 13, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bryan Douglas Smith, who left this world on March 13, 2026, after a courageous and brief battle with pancreatic cancer, a mere two and a half weeks after diagnosis. Bryan's journey began on July 22, 1968, in the vibrant city of Louisville, KY. Though his time with us was cut short, he led a life rich with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Bryan was the beloved son of Judy and Leroy Smith, who predeceased him, along with his uncles, Clyde and Bill, and his grandparents, Burt and June Slone. He is survived by his devoted sister, Teresa Dorman and her husband, Derrick, his cherished nephews, Joshua and Tanner Dorman, and his adored nieces, Malorey Dorman and Kelly Henley, along with Kelly's husband, Jason, and their daughter, Natalie Henley. He also leaves behind his cousin Greg Slone, and a multitude of friends and extended family who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. Bryan's life was rooted in simplicity and authenticity. As a delivery driver at Domino's, he found not only a job but a community of lasting friendships. The freedom of the open road mirrored his independent spirit, allowing him to live life on his own terms. His colleagues and customers alike were touched by his unwavering smile and the warmth of his quick wit. His love for music was a defining element of his character. As a talented bass guitarist with his band, Stick People, Bryan was never far from a melody. While his humor often referenced a playful rivalry with the Smashing Pumpkins, those who knew him understood his genuine passion for music that transcended any jest. His Honda Shadow motorcycle was an extension of his love for the open road, and he generously shared that joy with anyone eager for a ride. Family and friends were the cornerstone of Bryan's life. Whether through Discord chats, texts, or gatherings, he maintained a steadfast presence in the lives of those he loved. He was a proud uncle, and his nieces and nephews were forever close to his heart. Bryan's plans to travel south in his RV, chasing the warmth of the Florida sun, were emblematic of his adventurous spirit and love for new experiences. Though Bryan was a private person, his willingness to lend a helping hand and his ever-present smile spoke volumes of his character. His thoughtfulness and deep love for his family were constants in his life, ensuring that his legacy of kindness and humor will endure. A celebration of Bryan's life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Ashland Park, Clarksville, Indiana. As we gather to honor his memory, we invite all who knew him to share stories and remember the joy he brought into our lives. In Bryan's memory, let us hold onto the music, the laughter, and the love that he shared so freely. Though he may have taken his final ride, his spirit remains with us, echoing in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
