Bruce Wolfley

May 25, 1944 — May 27, 2026

Bruce Wolfley, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his care facility on May 27, 2026, just two days after celebrating his 82nd birthday. Born on May 25, 1944, in the quiet town of Emmett, Idaho, Bruce's life was filled with love, adventure, and enduring friendships. Bruce was a cherished son of Robert M. Wolfley and Esther Jensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Merrill, Jay, Brent, and Dale, and his former wife, Cynthia Ann Alger, with whom he shared countless memories and raised five wonderful children during their marriage, which began on June 8, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter in Portland, Oregon. Bruce's legacy lives on through his children: Ann (David) Yeaman, Bruce E. (Mimi) Wolfley, Craig (Julianna) Wolfley, Nancy (Ken) Roberts, and Michael (Heather) Wolfley. He is also survived by his siblings, Ellen Ethington, Ross Wolfley, and Lane Wolfley, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride. Bruce attended New Plymouth High School until his family moved and then graduated from Moscow High School in Moscow, Idaho, Bruce embarked on a career that took him on countless journeys across the country as a dedicated truck driver. His road adventures included working with companies like Garrett Freightlines, Albertsons, Idaho Sand and Gravel, and FedEx. Bruce retired in 2017, but not before leaving his mark on the highways and byways he traveled, often guiding others with his ability to navigate by mile markers, and his uncanny ability to spot anything of value along the freeway. Bruce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His love for the great outdoors was as vast as the landscapes he explored. Bruce never missed an opportunity for a hunting trip, often accompanied by his dear friends, Jerry and Bill Carter. His love for the outdoors led to many memorable camping trips and family reunions, which he treasured deeply. Bruce was also a passionate collector, with an eclectic assortment of tools, guns, knives, and sunglasses. He delighted in sharing his prized collections with others. Known for his friendly nature, Bruce had an extraordinary ability to walk into a room, whether a bank or a restaurant, and quickly make everyone feel like an old friend, remembering their names and sharing in good conversation. A service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held on June 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Olpin Family Mortuary, located at 494 S. 300 E., Pleasant Grove, UT. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pointe Meadows Health and Rehabilitation in Lehi, Utah, for their compassionate care and for always ensuring there was plenty of pie and ice cream to enjoy. Bruce Wolfley was a man who left an enduring legacy of kindness and generosity, often spending his free time serving others with his mechanical, carpentry, or craftman skills. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory forever inspire us to cherish the simple joys of life and the warmth of human connection.
