Bruce Wormsley, a devoted family man and a cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, just shy of his 71st birthday. Born in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina, on September 27, 1955, Bruce lived a life marked by service, love, and a deep appreciation for the connections he made along his journey. Bruce was the beloved son of the late Francis and Eleanor Wormsley, who raised him with a strong sense of duty and compassion. Throughout his life, Bruce carried these values with him, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was predeceased by his dear children, Kristen, Holly, and Bruce Jr., whose memories he cherished deeply. A proud alumnus of Chenango Forks Schools, Bruce found his calling in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for 20 years. His dedication to his country was unwavering, and his time in the service was a source of immense pride for him. Following his military career, Bruce continued to protect and serve as a security guard, a role in which he found great fulfillment. Bruce was a passionate collector of all things Star Trek, a hobby that brought him immense joy and connected him with a community of fellow enthusiasts. He delighted in sharing his collection and stories with family and friends, often sparking lively conversations and new friendships. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Wormsley, and his devoted daughter, Lisa Anne Wormsley, who were the center of his world. He leaves behind his cherished sisters, Debra (and her husband Robert Schultz), Karin, and Buzz Benedict, along with his brother Barry and Lisa Wormsley. Bruce's legacy will also live on through his treasured grandchildren, Logan, Travis, Casey, Rasha, and Reem, who brought boundless joy to his life. And niece and nephews The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bayhealth Hospital for the compassionate care Bruce received in his final days. They also wish to express their appreciation to his wife and nephew for their unwavering support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Bruce's generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Bruce's life was a testament to the power of love, service, and community. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
