August 8, 1955 — July 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Bruce, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. Bruce was steady as a rock. Whenever I came to him with questions or needed guidance, he seemed to have all the right answers, especially when it came to the Bible, his favorite subject. Bruce had a brilliant mind and saw things from a much different perspective than I often did. Yet somehow, he made sense. He was always learning, always searching, and always willing to dig deeper than most people ever cared to go. His love of knowledge was evident in his overflowing library, filled with books he had spent years reading and studying. He loved history, whether it was Biblical history, world history, or our own American history, and could share detailed stories about them all. He especially loved old dictionaries and the way the meanings of words changed over time. One word he often referenced was prejudice, explaining its older meaning of forming an opinion before knowing the facts. Bruce enjoyed exploring the history and meaning behind words, ideas, and the world around him. He also knew a great deal about how our government works, how it worked in years past, and, as he would surely point out, how it sometimes didn't work. If you ever held a conversation with Bruce, you probably know how it went. It wasn't always so much a conversation as a lecture on something he had been studying in depth. I used to tell him that if he would just take a breath between sentences, I had a question I had been waiting a long time to ask. That was Bruce, and those memories will always bring a smile. Beyond his knowledge and love of learning, Bruce had a generous heart. He loved helping people, especially family, with whatever came up. If someone needed a hand, Bruce was there. He was a man people could count on. Bruce was the father of Curtis Stevens (Sharon) and Caleb Stevens (Sarah). He was also a wonderful stepdad to my five daughters and their families: Lisa Celentano (Dan), Tamera Kennedy, Kristina Martinez (Mario), Ashley Castleberry, and April Castleberry (Josh). He was a grandfather to Colton, Conner, Kayson, Kira, Mia, Michael, Ethan, Izaak and Ezra. He leaves behind two sisters, Judy Sharp and Roxanne Feeney. Family was an important part of Bruce's life, and the memories made and love shared across generations will be treasured always. Bruce's faith was at the center of his life. He loved our Heavenly Father, Yahweh, and His Son, Jesus, Yeshua. He would wake early to pray, and prayer was something we shared in our life together. Whenever we left the house, we prayed for safety on the roads. There was one time I was upset with him and didn't feel like reminding him to pray before we left. That evening, on our way home, we were involved in a head-on collision. I never forgot that experience. It taught me a lesson I carried with me: Always pray.

Service Program

Until We Meet Again

He walked by faith, he sought the truth, With a searching mind and a faithful heart. He loved the Word, he loved to learn, And shared the wisdom he had earned. A steady rock, a helping hand, A man who tried to understand. His voice may rest, his work be done, But faith looks forward to what’s to come. Though we must part and feel the pain, Our hope in Yahweh still remains. Through Yeshua, our hope shines bright, An everlasting promise of life. Until that day when we shall meet, And stand together at His feet, We’ll hold his love, his faith, his name, Until we meet again.
