Bruce Charles Thomas
January 21, 2002 — July 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Charles Thomas, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world far too soon on July 1, 2026, at the age of 24. Born on January 21, 2002, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Bruce was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His infectious laughter and kind spirit touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family and friends.
Bruce was the cherished son of Angel Thomas and the late Bruce Thomas. He was a devoted brother to Vinessa Lewis, Gregory Rivera Jr., and Chadd Rivera, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. From a young age, Bruce was an energetic and curious soul, with a passion for learning and exploration.
He graduated from Washington High School in 2020, where he not only excelled academically but also formed lifelong friendships that he held dear. Bruce had a love for basketball, a sport that not only kept him active but also served as a platform for him to mentor young children, teaching them not only the skills of the game but also valuable life lessons. His dedication to mentoring the youth was a testament to his generous and caring nature.
Bruce's career journey took him to Amazon, where he worked diligently for two years, and later to FedEx, where his work ethic and dedication were greatly admired. His colleagues remember him as a spirited and hardworking individual who always brought positivity to the workplace.
Beyond his professional life, Bruce was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed fishing, capturing life's moments through video, writing music, and most importantly, making people laugh. His sense of humor and ability to find joy in the simplest of things brought happiness to all who were fortunate enough to be in his presence.
Bruce's life will be celebrated on July 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home, located at 2800 E 18th Street. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the beautiful life he lived, sharing stories and memories of the joy he brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, a gesture that reflects Bruce's generous spirit and his desire to impact the world positively.
Though Bruce's time with us was brief, his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will endure forever. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
