Bruce A. Evans
March 28, 1947 — March 3, 2026
Bruce A. Evans, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully departed this world on March 3, 2026, at Boston Mass General, following a fall. Born on March 28, 1947, in the quaint town of Exeter, New Hampshire, Bruce was the cherished son of the late John and Clarice (Prescott) Evans. His journey through life was marked by an unwavering curiosity, a pursuit of knowledge, and a steadfast devotion to family and friends.
Bruce's early years were spent in Kingston, where he graduated from Sanborn Seminary High School in 1966. A dedicated worker, Bruce spent 25 years at the Alrose Shoe Company on Rockingham Street in Exeter, contributing to the community with both skill and dedication. Upon retiring, he continued to engage with his community through various jobs in Hampton, always eager to lend a helping hand and share his warm spirit.
Bruce was a man of profound spirituality, his heart and mind open to exploring the world's diverse religious cultures. His studies spanned Catholicism, Hinduism, the Jewish faith, and Greek Orthodox traditions, all in pursuit of truth and peace. This spiritual quest led him to The Shrine of Our Lady LaSalette in Enfield, NH, a place that held special meaning for him.
In addition to his spiritual pursuits, Bruce was a man of many talents and interests. He learned to play the bagpipes and was a regular attendee of the Scottish Highland Games, where the melodic sounds of his music could be heard resonating through the air. An aficionado of seafood, Bruce relished the simple joy of sharing meals with those he loved, his laughter and quick wit lighting up any gathering. His dry humor was a treasured gift, capable of bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.
Bruce's love for nature was evident in his simple yet profound hobby of feeding the birds. He found solace in these moments of quiet connection with the natural world, a testament to his gentle and nurturing spirit.
Bruce leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his brothers, John and JoAnn (Pinard) Evans, and Charlie Evans and Debbie Briscoe. His life was further enriched by his numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who cherished his companionship and wisdom. Predeceased by his parents and his siblings Vernon Evans, Joyce (Evans) Lauret, Carole (Evans) Killam, and Wayne Evans, Bruce's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
As we gather to celebrate Bruce's life, we remember a man who was not just a member of our community but a beacon of kindness, humor, and genuine curiosity. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and an insatiable quest for understanding the beauty of the world. Bruce A. Evans will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
