It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved brother Jeffrey, who departed this world on June 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with diabetes. Born on November 23, 1954, in the charming town of Middletown, Connecticut, Jeff was a beacon of intelligence, creativity, and kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Jeff was the cherished son of the late Donald P. Chernoff and Dorothy B. Chernoff. He now joins them in peaceful eternity. He is survived by his devoted sisters, Julia Dixon, Molly Miller, and Amy Kemp, who adored him dearly. An exceptional student, Jeff attended Loomis Chaffee School in the early 1970s, where he forged friendships that would last a lifetime. His intelligence and curiosity were evident early on, leading him to a fruitful career as a computer programmer. His work, characterized by innovation and dedication, left an indelible mark on his field and in the hearts of his colleagues. Jeff was a proud member of MENSA, a testament to his brilliant mind and intellectual prowess. His passion for learning and problem-solving was matched only by his love for music. A skilled guitarist, Jeff's musical talents were extraordinary. He formed a band, pouring his heart into writing, recording, and promoting their music, much to the delight of his friends and fans. Music was not just a hobby for him; it was a profound expression of his spirit and creativity. Throughout his life, Jeff was known not just for his accomplishments, but for his intellec and quick wit. His laughter was infectious, and his compassion knew no bounds. He inspired those around him to live life fully, to cherish each moment, and to hold dear the bonds of family and friendship. Jeffrey's cremains will be interred in the Columbarium at Holy Trinity Church, located in Harwich, Massachusetts. In remembrance of Brother, let us carry forward his love of music, his thirst for knowledge, and his unwavering kindness. May his soul find peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Rest in harmony, dear Brother. You will forever be in our hearts.
