In Loving Memory

Brinton George Osborne
February 13, 1943 — May 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Brinton George Osborne, lovingly known as Brit, who left this world on May 26, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 13, 1943, in New Brunswick, NJ, Brit was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and generosity to all who had the privilege to know him.
Brit was the cherished son of the late Ellen (Hollows) and Brinton Osborne. He was predeceased by his devoted parents and fondly remembered cousin, Bob Hollows. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife of 47 years, Gail Jean (Lazar) Osborne, whom he married on March 23, 1979, in Milltown, NJ. Together, they created a loving home in Milltown for two decades before settling in Hamilton Square, NJ.
A proud father, Brit is survived by his three sons: Brinton Osborne, Jr.; Scott Osborne and his wife, Hilary; and Randy Osborne and his wife, Karen. His family was his pride and joy, and he delighted in their achievements and happiness. Brit is also survived by his cousins Donald (Osborne), Bruce, and Bill (Hollows), who were more like siblings to him.
Brit's formative years were spent in New Brunswick, where he graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1961. He felt a deep sense of duty to his country, which led him to serve in the Navy CB. His service took him to the icy landscapes of Iceland, where he spent two formative years.
His professional life was marked by dedication and skill as an operating engineer. For 40 years, Brit worked with Traprock Industries and was a proud member of the Local 825 union for an impressive 59 years. His work ethic and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his professional life, Brit was an active member of the Masonic Temple in Milltown for 55 years. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he was deeply involved with St. Michael’s Methodist Church in Hamilton Square, where he was always ready to lend a helping hand. His selflessness and generosity were hallmarks of his character.
Brit had a zest for life that extended to his hobbies and interests. A passionate racing fan, he rarely missed a NASCAR race. He found joy in sailing, tinkering in his garage, and tending to his meticulously landscaped yard. In his later years, he discovered a new passion for building model replicas, creating dozens with the same meticulous attention he applied to all his endeavors.
Those who knew Brit will remember him as a good, hard-working family man, neighbor, and friend. He had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and valued, and his kindness left an indelible mark on countless lives. To Brit, the word “no” was never an option when someone needed help.
As we say goodbye to Brit, we are reminded of the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. Brit’s life was a testament to the power of love and community, and his memory will be eternally cherished.
A celebration of Brit’s life will be held at St. Michael’s Methodist Church in Hamilton Square, NJ, where friends and family will gather to honor a life beautifully lived. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Brit's memory to a charity close to his heart.
