Brian Scott Rosen

Brian Scott Rosen, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2026, after an inspiring and courageous eight-year battle with cancer. Born on March 3, 1962, in Mineola, New York, Brian's life was a testament to resilience, adventure, and a profound love for those around him. Brian was the cherished son of the late Abraham Benjamin and Katharine Irene Rosen. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 13 years, Deborah Rosen, and his sons, Adam Michael and his wife Colleen Rosen, Sean Matthew Rosen, and step-sons Dalton Paul Brantner and Connor Farrell Brantner. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished the time spent together, especially during family travels and adventures. A graduate of South Torrance High School in 1980, Brian went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. His thirst for knowledge extended beyond academics to his certification as a Scuba Diving Instructor with PADI, and his dedication as a Civilian on Patrol and State Certified Traffic Crash Investigator with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Brian's career was marked by service and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 15 years as a Chief Petty Officer Electrician Mate, retiring in 1995. His expertise as a Certified Nuclear Power Operator on a fast-attack submarine was a testament to his skill and commitment. Following his naval service, Brian embarked on a distinguished career with Philips, where he traveled the world and rose from Instructor to Director of Installations, retiring in 2021. In retirement, Brian dedicated his time to volunteering with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office as a traffic crash investigator. His active membership in the Italian American Social Club, the Palm Coast Irish Club, and the “Bad Boys” was a reflection of his love for camaraderie and community. Brian was a man of many passions. He found solace and adventure in scuba diving, capturing the beauty of the underwater world through his lens. He took immense pleasure in cruising, whether exploring the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama Canal, or even Cuba. His evenings were often spent in the company of friends, playing cards, or savoring a fine single malt Scotch or a good Tequila. Those who knew Brian will always remember his warmth and generosity. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his kindness touched countless lives. His legacy of love and generosity will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. In accordance with Brian's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Halifax Health Hospice for allowing Brian to pass comfortably at home. In honor of his life and service, donations in Brian's memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Jacksonville, FL.
