It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brendan Andrew Lovaas, who left this world far too soon on September 17, 2026, at the age of 22, due to a tragic car accident. Born on December 15, 2003, in Crescent City, CA, Brendan was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him.
Brendan was the beloved son of Andrew and Celeste Lovaas and grew up surrounded by the love of his sisters, Madelyn, Katelyn, Ashlynn, and Jocelyn. From a young age, he exhibited a joyful spirit and a contagious sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone's face. Brendan's laughter was a gift to all who knew him, and he had an uncanny ability to lift spirits even in the toughest of times.
Brendan's passion for life extended into his many interests and pursuits. He was a dedicated wrestler during his time at Del Norte High School, from which he graduated in 2022. Brendan also found joy in boxing and playing the guitar, activities that allowed him to express his vibrant energy and creativity.
Professionally, Brendan was committed to serving his community as a lifeguard at the Fred Endert Pool. For over a year, he worked diligently, forming meaningful connections with coworkers and patrons alike. His presence at the pool was marked by his unwavering dedication to safety and his friendly demeanor.
Family was at the heart of Brendan's life. He was a cherished grandson to Darlene Wagner and Michael and Diane Lovaas, and he carried the legacy of his predeceased grandfather, Fred Wagner, Jr., and great-grandfather, Darryl Lovaas, with pride. Brendan's great-grandmother, Jean Lovaas, also held a special place in his heart.
Brendan shared a deep and loving bond with his soulmate, Terra Eunoia, with whom he had been in a devoted relationship for two years. Their love story began in elementary school and blossomed over the years into a beautiful partnership. Together, they were excitedly anticipating the arrival of their first child, baby Jude. Brendan's joy for his growing family was immeasurable, and he was eagerly looking forward to becoming a father.
He leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends, including his dear girlfriend Terra, his aunts and uncles Ed and Julia Lovaas, Allison and Patrick Hensley, Jessica and Michael Bolten, Freddy and Holly Wagner, Erik and Tan Wagner, Bethany and Nicholas McAvoy, and Ethan and Laura Wagner. His cousins Michael Bolten Jr., Gage, Brenna, and Emily Wagner, Jasmine, Lilly, Daisy, Rose, and Violet McAvoy, and Imogen Wagner, Gregory, and Ethan Lovaas will all miss him dearly.
As we bid farewell to Brendan, we remember him for his vibrant spirit, his infectious laughter, and the love he so generously shared with those around him. He will forever be remembered as a beloved great-grandson, grandson, son, brother, partner, nephew, boyfriend, and friend. Brendan's legacy of joy, love, and laughter will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. ‘Till we meet again.
