Brenda Thompson
January 19, 1954 — September 30, 2026
Brenda Thompson, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, in her sleep. Born on January 19, 1954, in Pasadena, Texas, Brenda's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep connection to her family and faith.
Brenda was the cherished daughter of Harry and Nadean Thompson, who predeceased her along with her great-nephew, Ethan Harrison McCullin. Her legacy of love continues through her nieces, Kristi Morrison (Jason), Kelli McCullin (Nathan), Ashley Siner (Nathan), Amy Silvers (Michael), and Alexandra Bechel (Chad), as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Though she never married or had children of her own, Brenda embraced her role as "Aunt Bem" with profound affection and devotion, nurturing her nieces as if they were her own and becoming an irreplaceable part of their lives.
A proud alumna of New Caney High School, Brenda graduated in 1972 before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Sam Houston University in 1976. Her academic achievements paved the way for a successful career at OxyChem in LaPorte, Texas, where she dedicated nearly 40 years of her life. Brenda's commitment to her work and her colleagues was a testament to her character and work ethic.
A faithful member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Linden, Texas, Brenda's spirituality was a cornerstone of her life. Her hobbies and interests brought her immense joy, from traveling and exploring new places to the simple pleasure of cruising in her sporty Supra. Brenda also found delight in putting together jigsaw puzzles, keeping up with current events on Fox News, and expanding her impressive collection of films.
Brenda's family extends heartfelt gratitude to Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days. Her life will be celebrated and remembered at a service on October 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Texas.
