Brenda Sue Moore

Brenda Sue Moore, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. Born on May 15, 1954, in Liberty, Kentucky, Brenda was the cherished daughter of Osbin and Mattie Wheeler. She was lovingly adopted and raised by Otto and Mary Rose Sizemore, who nurtured her kind spirit and unwavering dedication to family. A proud graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1972, Brenda dedicated her professional life to Franklin College, where she worked with commitment and passion until her retirement in 2019. Her colleagues and students at the college were often the beneficiaries of her kindness and wisdom, which she shared generously. Brenda's life was a testament to love and resilience. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found fulfillment in the time spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that has deeply touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unconditional love for her family was a guiding light, and her nurturing care will continue to inspire future generations. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Osbin and Mattie Wheeler, her sister Effie, her husband Mike Pruitt, her brother Osbin Jr., her grandson Alonzo AJ Goode Jr., and her great-grandson Trevor Jacob Whitehair Jr. Despite these profound losses, Brenda's spirit remained strong and her heart, open. Surviving Brenda are her beloved daughters, Sarah Moore (and husband Dennis Carney), and Sherry Goode of Columbus, Indiana. Her grandchildren, Krissy Mahoy, Trenton Whitehair, and Tamyrah Carney, along with her 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, will carry forward her legacy of love. Brenda is also survived by her brothers, Noel Wheeler and Richard Wheeler, as well as her adopted siblings, sister Emma Baker, and brothers Larry Sizemore, Terry Sizemore, and Dale Sizemore. Brenda's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her spirit will forever remain a source of comfort and strength. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and institutions that provided thoughtful care and prayers for Brenda during her final days. In keeping with Brenda's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Brenda's memory, as a tribute to her generous and compassionate spirit. Though Brenda is no longer with us, her love continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
