Brenda Slayton Farabee

Brenda Slayton Farabee, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC. Her journey began in Julian, NC, on June 4, 1944, as the beloved daughter of Francis and Myrtle Slayton. Brenda was a devoted wife to the late Kenneth Travis Farabee, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 46 years. They united in love on December 19, 1969, creating a life filled with warmth and laughter until Kenneth's passing in 2015. Together, they nurtured a family that continues to honor their legacy with love and dedication. A proud graduate of Alamance High School and King's Business College, Brenda embarked on a career at The Sears, Roebuck & Co. before choosing the fulfilling role of a full-time homemaker, dedicating her life to nurturing her family. Her daughters, Dana Beitzel (Bob) and Dawn Hippert (Erick), were her pride and joy, and Brenda's love and support were unwavering as she actively participated in their sports and music activities. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Daniel Williams (Praise), Travis Williams (Danielle), Kateland Williams, and Kelsey Williams, as well as her precious great-granddaughter, Olivia Williams. Brenda was a woman of deep faith, holding memberships at both Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Infusion Church. Her devotion to her faith was evident in her participation in bible studies and church activities. With a child-like spirit, Brenda was known for her feistiness and quick wit, endearing her to everyone she met. Her love for art and craft projects brought joy to her life and those around her. Additionally, she made a lasting impact as an Assistant Girl Scout Leader for many years, instilling values and creating memories for many young girls. Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth, her parents James Francis Slayton and Myrtle Lynn Slayton, her brother Donald Slayton, and her sister Virginia Greeson. Her spirit lives on through her family, who will treasure her memory and the love she shared with them. A service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held on July 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ebenezer Memorial Association's Chapel, located at 2098 Ebenezer Church Road. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and devotion. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brenda's memory to Brenner Children's Hospital, reflecting her generous spirit and love for children. Brenda Slayton Farabee will be remembered for her boundless love, enduring faith, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be cherished for generations to come.
