Daughter of the late George and Rose Kemp, Brenda was a nurturer at heart. Her nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of her life. For 20 years, she shared her culinary talents as a cook, bringing joy and comfort to those who had the pleasure of tasting her creations. Her passion for helping others extended to her decades-long career as a teacher, where she inspired and educated countless students with kindness and patience.
Brenda was a lifelong member of her church, an embodiment of faith and commitment. Her devotion and service to her church community reflected her deep-rooted values and her unwavering belief in supporting others. Known for her big heart, she was always ready to lend a hand, offering support and love to all who crossed her path.
Her family was the center of her world. Brenda was predeceased by her cherished children, Nia Settles, Avia Boss, and Andre Kemp. Her legacy of love lives on through her surviving children, grandchildren, and a vast extended family. Brenda's grandchildren, Darrell Settles, Tyshawn Settles, Davez Settles, Ti Young, Twon Young, Moe Boss, Tre Boss, and many more, brought her immense joy and pride. She delighted in cooking, cleaning, and caring for them, always with a smile and a heart full of love.
A service to honor Brenda's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 3:30 PM at the Memphis Church of Christ, located at 1625 N 18th Street. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her remarkable life.
