In Loving Memory

Brenda M. Harris
September 4, 1964 — May 20, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Brenda M. Harris, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 20, 2026. Born on September 4, 1964, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Brenda's life was a testament to unwavering strength, resilience, and the power of love.
Brenda was the cherished daughter of Hattie and Jessie Harris, who imbued in her the values of courage and perseverance. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brother Donald Harris, and her devoted spouse Randy Sharp, with whom she was reunited in 1996 and shared the rest of her life. Tragically, her brother Ronald Harris also passed away shortly after her.
A proud graduate of Corliss High School, Brenda pursued higher education at MacMurray College, earning Associate Degrees in both Automotive Technology and General Studies. Her education was a reflection of her commitment to personal growth and her fearless approach to life.
Brenda's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, LaShanda and Brandy, who were the light of her life, and her precious grandchildren, Terriyah and Terronde, who brought her endless happiness. Brenda also shared a deep bond with friends who became sisters, Paulay and Squeaky, and a wide circle of family and friends who cherished her dearly.
Her life was adorned with simple pleasures that brought her joy. Brenda had an infectious love for movies, cooking shows, and reality TV, which she enjoyed with her characteristic humor and wit. Her passion for fashion, particularly her love of shoes, purses, and perfume, was an expression of her confidence and zest for life.
Brenda was a beacon of strength, facing the formidable challenges of sickle cell anemia and cancer with unmatched bravery and grace. She laughed in the face of adversity and fought valiantly until her last breath, inspiring all who knew her with her indomitable spirit.
In accordance with her wishes, Brenda did not desire a formal memorial service. Instead, she asked that those who loved her light a candle, say a prayer, and reminisce about times filled with laughter and love in her honor. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who offered support, advice, and prayers during her journey, and appreciates the condolences at this difficult time.
Brenda's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her fearlessness, leadership, and love will forever be remembered and cherished. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, forever inspired by the warmth and strength she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Brenda. Your light will shine eternally.
