It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Joyce Griggs Burnett, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Brenda passed away peacefully at her home on March 18, 2026, at the age of 74. She was surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and warmth that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Brenda was born on September 28, 1951, in Denton, Missouri, to Ralph and Lois Griggs. She was the youngest of their children and was predeceased by her beloved parents and brothers, Jeffery, Floyd, and Randy Griggs. Brenda was also preceded in death by her precious granddaughter Bethany Howell and her dear great-grandson, Baby Bryson. In the vibrant tapestry of her life, Brenda met and married the love of her life, Roy Burnett, on January 24, 1970. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and the joyous sounds of their growing family. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband, Roy, her beloved daughters Shonda Vaughn and Tonya McGrew, her cherished granddaughter Madeline, and her adored great-grandchildren Brayden, Stella, Violet, and Lyla. Brenda was a woman of deep faith and devotion. Her love for the Lord was evident in her dedication to the church, where she found solace, community, and purpose. Brenda's passion for life was reflected in her hobbies. She was known for her adventurous spirit, often finding joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as browsing through treasures at junk stores and losing herself in the melodies of Elvis Presley, whom she adored as his #1 fan. Brenda was also a devoted viewer of Fox News, never missing an opportunity to stay informed about the world around her. Brenda’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of many. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Brenda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will forever light our hearts. In honor of Brenda's life and legacy, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, we invite you to remember Brenda with love and joy, as she now rests peacefully. Sleep with the Angels and Dance with the Stars, dear Brenda. Rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brenda's name to her church or a charity close to her heart.
