Brenda Joyce Brown-Miller
August 25, 1941 — May 29, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Brenda Joyce Brown-Miller. Brenda departed this world on May 29, 2026, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by love in the hospital, where she transitioned peacefully from this life to the next.
Brenda was born on August 25, 1941, in the sunlit state of California, a place that mirrored the warmth and vibrancy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Clarethar Brown and Jessie Dozier, who preceded her in death. Her loving husband, Andrew Miller, and her dear sons, Rodney Miller and Mark Miller, also passed before her, leaving cherished memories that Brenda held close to her heart.
Brenda's life was one of dedication and service, marked by her commitment to family, faith, and community. She received her early education in the public schools of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and furthered her studies at Pierce Business College. Her bright mind and diligent work ethic led her to fulfilling careers at the IRS and NASA, where she made significant contributions and formed lasting friendships.
A woman of deep faith, Brenda joined the House of God under the guidance of her grandmother, Florie Brown. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she lived as a testament to her beliefs, embodying the virtues of kindness, generosity, and compassion. Her home was a haven of joy and laughter, especially during the holidays when she delighted in entertaining family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of all who gathered around her table.
Brenda's legacy lives on through her devoted son, Daryl Miller, and her treasured grandson, Donavon Miller, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her beloved Aunt Arletha Boyd, a host of caring cousins, and numerous friends who became family through the years. Brenda's capacity for friendship was boundless, and she was known as a kind and devoted friend, always ready with a listening ear and an open heart.
In this time of sorrow, we take solace in the special message from her family, which perfectly encapsulates the essence of Brenda's life: "We loved her, but God loved her best. Rest in Peace, Brenda, God's Good & Faithful Servant."
As we gather to celebrate Brenda's remarkable life, we remember her not with tears, but with love and gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her. Her spirit will live on in the stories we tell and the love she sowed in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Brenda, knowing you are deeply loved and profoundly missed.
