Born to Andrew and Nellie Johnston, Brenda was a beloved daughter who carried forward the values and wisdom imparted by her parents. She was predeceased by her parents, her dear daughter Juanita Hutchins, precious granddaughter Angela Sanchez, and her siblings, Dorothy Swartz and Steve Johnston. Her nephews, Brian Askey, Alan Ladd, and Scotty Estep, also held a special place in her heart.
Brenda's legacy lives on through her surviving children: Richard Myers, Sheri Falin, Dwayne Myers, Jennifer Hutchins, and Amber Smith (Delbert), siblings: James “Sunny” Johnston, Shirley Cardwell, Genevie Estep (Larry), Rita Ladd (Ralph), Jackie Askey (John), who shared life's journey with her. Brenda was blessed with a large, loving family, including seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Surrounded by family and friends who adored her, Brenda's presence was a source of joy and comfort to many.
Her career at Textiles spanned fifteen years, where she dedicated herself until her well-earned retirement. Brenda's work ethic and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Brenda found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her front porch was her haven—a place where she delighted in people-watching, sharing stories with family, and feeling the gentle embrace of the breeze. She took pride in maintaining an immaculate home and had a special touch for tending to her beloved flowers. Her affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless, and each one carries the treasured memories of her love.
Brenda's family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of kind words and condolences during this time. They extend heartfelt thanks to all who have reached out with support and compassion.
A private funeral ceremony will be held in her honor, allowing her family to cherish her memory in an intimate setting. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Brenda's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her spirit of generosity and kindness.
