Brenda Hayes Tedder, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 71, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 14, 1955, in Waukegan, Illinois, Brenda was the cherished daughter of Cecil and Bonnie Hayes.
Brenda grew up in Waukegan, where she attended Liberty High School before furthering her education at the Arkansas School for the Deaf. On August 17, 1978, she married the love of her life, Wallace Tedder, with whom she shared 24 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.
A devoted stay-at-home mom, Brenda's world revolved around her two sons, Jeremy Tedder of Benton, Arkansas, and Josh Tedder of Woodbridge, Virginia. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family, as she was known for her kindness and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. Brenda's infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her.
Brenda is survived by her sons, Jeremy and Josh, her siblings, Mark Hayes of Lorton, Virginia, and Cheryl Hayes of Des Moines, Iowa, and her three precious grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Bonnie Hayes, her sister, Sue Trantham, and her brother, Ronnie Hayes.
Brenda had a passion for collecting Precious Moments figurines, a hobby that brought her much joy. She also loved bowling and, most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
A service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Pierce Funeral Home, located at 9609 Center St. Manassas, VA 20110. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the remarkable woman Brenda was, sharing stories and memories that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda's memory may be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. Brenda Hayes Tedder will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
