In Loving Memory

Brenda DeLaine Wyatt
February 9, 1947 — May 18, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved Brenda DeLaine Wyatt, who peacefully departed this world on May 18, 2026, at her cherished home. Brenda's remarkable journey began on February 9, 1947, in the quaint town of Logan, West Virginia, where she was born to the late Bernard James Wyatt and Anna Mae Yeager Wyatt.
Brenda's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and service. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth and compassion touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Brenda was predeceased by her loving parents and is survived by her adoring husband, Clyde Neal, with whom she shared 13 beautiful years of marriage, a union grounded in mutual respect and unwavering affection.
As a sister, Brenda was cherished by her siblings — Tam Wyatt, Dane Wyatt, Brett Wyatt (Rhonda), and Eric Wyatt (Angela), who each held a special place in her heart. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her daughters, Jonna Locklear (Chris) and Devon Rose (Shannon), who were the center of her world. Brenda was immensely proud of her grandchildren, Logan Locklear (Haylie), Austin Rose (Harmony), Zachary Rose, and Sarah Shelley, and her heart swelled with joy at the sight of her eight great-grandchildren, who brought her endless delight and laughter.
Brenda's commitment to her community was evident in her long and dedicated career with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department, from which she retired at the age of 65. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of integrity and steadfast dedication, and her work made a lasting impact. Upon retirement, she embraced the tranquility of Cana, Virginia, where she found peace and comfort in her surroundings.
A proud graduate of Hopewell High School, Brenda's education laid the foundation for a life of wisdom and generosity. Her warm spirit and generous heart extended beyond her family to the myriad of friends and acquaintances fortunate enough to cross her path. Her membership in various organizations reflected her desire to give back to the community that she cared for deeply.
In honoring Brenda's life, we remember her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering ability to bring people together. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, an organization that provides compassionate care and support, values that Brenda held close to her heart.
As we gather to celebrate Brenda's life, let us hold her memory close and remember the love and joy she shared with all of us. Brenda DeLaine Wyatt will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light and an inspiration for generations to come. Her life was a testament to love, compassion, and the indomitable spirit of a woman whose presence was truly a blessing.
May she rest in eternal peace.
