Brenda "Benny" J. Macomber, a devoted daughter, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully from this life on June 18, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on January 4, 1950, in the charming town of Greenville, Maine, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Wilfred and Beverly Macomber. She was predeceased by her parents, whose memories she cherished deeply. Brenda's life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication. She was a proud graduate of Greenville High School, class of 1969, and went on to earn an associate degree in Secretarial Science from Casco Bay College in Portland, Maine. Her professional journey began as an administrative secretary at Holy Innocents from 1980 to 1983. She then took on the role of an Investment Technician at UNUM Life Insurance Company until 1987. Brenda's career flourished at Catholic Charities Maine, where she started as an Administrative Assistant in 1987. With her unwavering dedication, she rose through the ranks to become the Executive Manager from 2004 until her retirement in 2013. Her remarkable career was marked by her commitment to service and her innovative and compassionate leadership. Brenda's personal life was as rich as her professional one. As a faithful Catholic, her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her existence. Her giving nature extended to volunteering at the Preble Street Resource Center and the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen at Cathedral in Portland, Maine. She volunteered by serving meals, sometimes during the holidays. She also purchased and shared warm clothing to ensure the comfort and safety of those in need. She genuinely cared for individuals in need and served them without judgement and with sincere respect. Brenda's kindness and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Brenda cherished her time at her camp on Moosehead Lake at Beaver Cove, where she spent as much time as possible over 18 years. It provided her with a special place to play, rest, connect with friends and enjoy her hometown over the years. Her love for the time spent "upta camp" was only surpassed by the love she had for her family and friends. Brenda is survived by her devoted daughter, Bekki Munster who was her pride and joy, as well as her best friend. She also leaves behind a cherished friend who was like a sister, Sandra King, and her beloved cousins, Randi Murphy and Candice Carpenter. Brenda was adored by her one grand-dog, Boone, and many close friends who will deeply miss her presence.
