In Loving Memory of Brenda Johnson It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Teneyck a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Brenda was born on March 29, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama, and peacefully departed this life at her home on July 16, 2026. Brenda was the cherished daughter of Lloyd and Ethel Johnson, who predeceased her but left her with a legacy of love and resilience that she carried throughout her life. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Tina Teneyck, and her two adored grandchildren, Mariah and Malachai Teneyck, who were the light of her life. Her presence will also be deeply missed by her six siblings—Diane, Yuvette, Junice, Deborah, Darryle, and Lloyd—along with a host of nieces and nephews who were blessed to share in her love and wisdom. Brenda's journey was one of dedication and perseverance. In 1978, she accomplished a significant milestone by earning her GED, which paved the way for a fulfilling career. She began her professional path at Walter Reed and later found her calling at the Department of Employment Services. Brenda dedicated 35 years of service before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and excellence. In retirement, Brenda embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. Her zest for learning led her to water aerobics, computer classes, and even a part-time summer position at the Department of Recreation, a role she thoroughly enjoyed. Brenda's culinary talents were unmatched, and she was renowned for her delicious collard greens, tuna fish, and banana pudding—dishes that brought friends and family together. Brenda was, above all, an incredible mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and her kind spirit touched everyone she met. She was a beacon of kindness and was beloved by all who crossed her path. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Brenda's giving nature and her desire to make the world a better place. The Teneyck family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their expressions of sympathy, calls, and prayers during this time of bereavement. Your support has been a source of comfort and strength. Brenda's life was a testament to love, kindness, and the joy of family. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts.
