Born on August 16, 1928, in Knoxville, TN, Breathal was a beacon of love, strength, and resilience, leaving a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her. Breathal was the beloved daughter of the late Alvin and Myrtle Patton. She was part of a large, loving family, predeceased by her parents and siblings Alvin Jr., Barbara Jean, Johnny, Melvin, Dorothy, David, Charles, Mildred, Willie Ruth, Catherine, Samuel, and Jerome, as well as her son, LM Thomas III. Despite the immense loss she endured, Breathal remained a steadfast pillar for her surviving family members, who include her devoted children: Melaine Brown, Brenda Biondo, Cynthia Thomas, Julie Shorter, and Warrenetta Huling. She is also fondly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom holds a special place in her heart. Education was important to Breathal, who was educated through the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Northern High School. Her commitment to personal growth and learning was evident throughout her life. Breathal's professional journey led her to a fulfilling career at General Motors Company, where she dedicated over 20 years of diligent service before retiring. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Breathal was an active member of the Great Lakes Country Club and a cherished member of Faith Baptist Church. Her faith and community service were central elements of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Breathal's life will be celebrated on July 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Word of Faith International Christian Center, located at 20000 W Nine Mile Rd, Southfield, MI 48075. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory, recounting stories of her kindness, generosity, and the unwavering love she shared with those fortunate enough to cross her path. As we say goodbye to a matriarch who epitomized grace and strength, we carry forward her spirit in our hearts, striving to live by her example of compassion and dedication.
