January 17, 2001 — January 24, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandon Steven Stewart, who left this world peacefully at home on January 24, 2026, at the tender age of 25. Born on January 17, 2001, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Brandon was the beloved son of Julie Antoinette Pursell and Kent Steven Stewart. His life, though far too brief, was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends. Brandon was predeceased by cherished family members including Myra and Cornelius McNelis (MeeMaw & PeePaw), his brother Steven Kent Stewart, Lawrence J. Boteler Jr. (Gramps), grandparents Delores and Stanley Stewart, Uncle David Stewart, and Aunt Sylvia Naquin. He is survived by his sister Megan Louise Stewart and his pride and joy, his niece Phoenix Theresa Stewart-Markey, affectionately known as Phe. Brandon's legacy also lives on through his grandmother Theresa McNelis Boteler, Uncle Lawrence J. Boteler III and his wife Caroline, Alyse Boteler, Frank Pursell and his wife Lisa, Jonathan Pursell and his wife Amelia, Katey Pursell Bundus and her husband Ethan, Rachel Pursell Ordoñez and her husband Josuè, Emily Pursell, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Brandon's early years were marked by a love for the outdoors, where he found joy in activities such as fishing, hunting, and riding jet skis and four-wheelers. He was a natural athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball, and track, and proudly celebrated several awards, including a second-place division win in basketball. His athletic prowess was only matched by his dedication to the family trade; he grew up admiring the electrical and construction work that his father, grandfather, and uncles pursued. Brandon was in the early stages of establishing his own electrical company alongside his father, driven by a desire to honor his late grandfather and carry on the family legacy. A proud graduate of Lutheran High School, Brandon also pursued higher education at Southeastern University. He was deeply rooted in his faith, growing up attending Celebration Church, and held an unwavering pride in his American identity. He had dreams of serving his country as an Air Force pilot, a testament to his patriotic spirit. Brandon was more than a man of ambitions and talents; he was a man of heart. Known for his tough exterior, those close to him knew of the tender and kind soul within. Always willing to lend a hand, his warmth and wit brought joy to those around him, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. A service to celebrate Brandon's life will be held at Celebration Church Airline Campus, located at 2001 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Maria and the staff at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home for their compassionate support during this difficult time. Brandon's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his laughter, his love, and his unwavering dedication to family and friends. Though he has left this world, his memory will serve as a guiding light for those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Brandon. Your journey may have ended, but your legacy endures.
