With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brandon Scales, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, who peacefully departed from this world on April 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on February 7, 1982, in Baltimore, Maryland, Brandon's life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and community. Brandon was the beloved son of the late Lanette Williams and Avon Scales, who predeceased him, along with his siblings Breaun, Lanay, Lashay, Chantia, Charisse, and Michael Scales. His family, though marked by profound loss, was a source of strength and inspiration, shaping the compassionate man we came to know and love. He shared a beautiful life with his wife of 12 years, Tona Scales, whom he married on June 2, 2014, in Seattle, Washington. Together, they nurtured and raised two wonderful children, Brandon Scales Jr. and Brittany Scales. Brandon's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, particularly those quiet, joyful times fishing together—a favorite pastime that brought them closer and created lasting memories. Brandon's academic journey began at Patterson Senior High School, where he graduated in 2000. His passion for engineering led him to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from University College in 2005. He pursued a fulfilling career as a mechanical engineer at Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 13 years. There, he was renowned not only for his technical expertise but also for his dedication to mentoring young engineers. Brandon played a key role in leading the team that developed and designed a groundbreaking transmission system in 2009—a testament to his skill and innovative spirit. Known for his infectious smile and quick wit, Brandon was always ready to share a joke and uplift those around him. He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, a quality that endeared him to countless friends and colleagues. His kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on the lives he touched, creating a legacy of love and generosity that will be remembered and celebrated for years to come. In addition to his immediate family, Brandon leaves behind numerous siblings, extended family, and close friends, all of whom were touched by his warmth and spirit. Although he did not have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, his legacy is carried forward by his children and the many lives he influenced. Brandon Scales will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. His life, though brief, was rich with love, laughter, and a dedication to making the world a better place. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the profound impact he had on those around him.
