In Loving Memory

Braheem Abdi Raheem-Rajhan
April 21, 1994 — February 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Braheem Abdi Raheem-Rajhan, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Known to many as Brandon King before embracing his faith, Braheem was born on April 21, 1994, in Richmond, Virginia. He departed this world peacefully at his home on February 25, 2026, after an epileptic seizure, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience.
Braheem was the cherished son of Darlene Porter and the late William King. His father, William, predeceased him, and he leaves behind his devoted mother, his sister Shannon McGee, and brothers Marcus Brown and Shamus King. His family, including Shannon's husband, Byran, will forever hold his memory in their hearts, treasuring the moments they shared.
Braheem’s journey through life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his education and personal growth. A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in business management from Virginia Western Community College. Braheem’s educational pursuits were driven by his dedication to bettering himself and providing for those he loved.
In 2018, Braheem embraced Islam, a decision that brought him profound peace and purpose. Taking the shahada, he became Braheem Abdi Raheem-Rajhan, a name that reflected his spiritual journey and his embrace of his faith. His community at Masjid Al-Salam became a second family to him, and his presence there will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Braheem brightened every room with his warm smile and gentle spirit. He was known for his unwavering kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement. His ability to see the good in everyone and everything was a testament to his generous heart and compassionate nature.
A service to honor and celebrate Braheem’s life will be held on March 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Masjid Al-Salam. Friends and family are invited to come together to remember Braheem, sharing stories and memories that highlight the beautiful life he lived.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love, calls, and visits during this difficult time. Your support has been a comfort to them as they navigate this profound loss. As the family reflects on Braheem’s life, they are reminded of the words: "From Allah we come. To Allah we must return."
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to organizations supporting epilepsy research, a cause close to Braheem’s heart.
Braheem, your journey on this earth may have ended, but your spirit and love will remain with us forever. May you rest in eternal peace.
