Brady Scott Bowman

Brady Scott Bowman, a cherished father, devoted friend & partner, and beloved community member passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 8, 2026, after a battle with throat cancer. Born on August 4, 1963, in York Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elnora Elizabeth Markey and Brady Homer Bowman Jr. He moved with his mother from Pennsylvania to Ocean City in his early childhood, where he would quickly become a familiar face to many throughout the community. He was also preceded in death by his lifelong stepfather James Edward McGaha; his sister Susan Diehl; and nieces Kerry Jo Harris and Danielle Kreeger. He leaves behind two devoted daughters, Allison Huovinen, his “Bee” and Shelby Bowman, his “Bear”; their mother and his close friend, Cynthia Hof; and his best friend and girlfriend of 21 years, Lisa Hevner Bentz. He is also survived by his uncle Joe Diehl and his wife Patti Diehl, two nieces, Wendy Torres and Karen Kreeger; many great-nieces and nephews, and his loyal fur-baby of 21 years, Tazbo. Brady’s career was as diverse as his interests. Early on, he owned a Valet Parking Service for the Bonfire Restaurant . He continued on to spend many years bartending around town, more notably at the old Pirates Den before pursuing a career in plumbing. As a plumber, he successfully operated his own business, Miranda Mechanical, and subcontracted for many companies in the area including Sens Mechanical and Steele Services. For the past eight years, he worked alongside RYT Plumbing, where he formed close friendships with Roy, Michael, Tyler, and many others who will deeply miss his presence and camaraderie. A proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 166 in Ocean City, Brady was an avid skateboarder in his youth, an exceptional pool player & enjoyed playing shuffleboard. Brady never seemed to meet a stranger, and wherever he went, he was surrounded by friends, stories, and plenty of laughter. Brady’s love for animals was constant throughout his life. He shared different parts of his life with 3 beloved dogs - Dondi, Chevas and Cato. He was locally known for his pet goat Miranda - a cherished birthday gift from Lisa, who became a familiar sight around town. Miranda was an unforgettable part of Brady’s life. More than anything , Brady will be remembered for his strong will, loving nature, and unforgettable sense of humor. He was a man who would do anything for anyone and always had time for a laugh or a helping hand. Brady will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those who knew him in the community and his close friends & family. His kindness, humor, and love will live on in the hearts of many. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to every doctor and nurse who provided exemplary care during his cancer journey, from Tidal Health to Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Date and time for his Celebration of Life will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
