Boyd Jackson, a cherished son, brother, father, and doting grandfather, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on May 13, 1959, in the serene town of Mathews, Virginia, Boyd was the beloved son of FN Jackson and Virginia Friend. He is predeceased by his father and his dear sister, Phyllis Jackson. Boyd leaves behind his loving mother, Virginia, his devoted siblings, Kenneth and Brandy, and his three children, Brandon, Danyel, and Mikayla. He was also the proud grandfather to five beautiful grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Boyd's journey began in Mathews, where he graduated from Mathews High School, paving the way to further his education at Virginia State University. His commitment to service was evident early on as he proudly served his country in the US Army, with memorable years spent stationed in Germany. After his military service, Boyd dedicated his career to law enforcement and security. He made significant contributions working for the Petersburg Police Department and as Head of Security at Miller & Rhodes. His journey continued at the Richmond Police Department, where he was actively involved with the Boys & Girls Club. Boyd's dedication to community service left an indelible mark on the lives he touched through his work with the club. Known for his adventurous spirit, Boyd found great joy in biking with his crew and cherished the tranquil beauty of living on the beach in Panama City. His life was a testament to his love for family, community, and the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Boyd’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Richmond, an organization close to Boyd's heart. Boyd Jackson will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his selfless service, and his infectious spirit that brightened the lives of all who knew him. As the family holds him "Forever in our hearts," his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind.
