Boyd Glenn Miller

March 14, 1938 — July 15, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Boyd Glenn Miller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (C.O.P.D.). Born on March 14, 1938, in the quaint town of Bellwood, Pennsylvania, Glenn lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion to family and community. Glenn was the cherished husband of Carol Miller, his devoted partner of 62 years, whom he married on May 27 in their hometown of Bellwood. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, shared values, and mutual respect. Their enduring love was a testament to their commitment and dedication to one another. He was a proud alumnus of Bellwood-Antis High School and served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, with postings in Germany and Spain. Glenn's sense of duty and service extended beyond his military career, as he worked diligently as a quality inspector at PPG in Tipton for many years until his retirement in 2000. Glenn's love for sports was legendary, particularly his passion for local Bellwood-Antis teams. He was a familiar face at every boys' and girls' playoff game, cheering with enthusiasm and pride. A dedicated fan of college basketball, the Steelers, and Penn State, Glenn's sports spirit was infectious and brought joy to those around him. Family gatherings were the highlight of Glenn's life. Thanksgiving and Christmas were not just about the delicious meals he relished but about the bustling, joyful chaos of family events. Glenn was a man who appreciated a good meal and was never shy about expressing his delight when he had one. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, his son Scott Miller and his partner Trish, and his daughter Marilyn Peterson and her husband James. Glenn was a devoted grandfather to Kara Peterson Mattocks, Kyle Peterson, Kasie Peterson, Victoria Miller Watters, Dawson Miller, Justin Miller, Krissy Miller, and Nick Miller, as well as a great-grandfather to five adoring great-grandchildren. Though predeceased by his children Byron, Stephen, and Douglass Miller, Glenn's legacy continues through his surviving family, who will forever cherish his memory. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Glenn's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601, as a gesture of appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Danielle, Sara, and the entire hospice team.
