It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lynne (Sexton) Pate, a dear wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who departed this world on April 28, 2026, at her cherished home in Fernley, Nevada. Born on May 3, 1980, in Salinas, California, Bonnie graced the earth with her warmth and compassion for 45 beautiful years. Bonnie was the beloved daughter of James Sexton and Geraldine (Becker) Sexton. She was predeceased by her father, James, and her sister, Debbie Sexton, who she dearly missed every day. Bonnie's spirit carries on through her devoted husband, Virgil Pate, and their children, Johnathan, Ryan, April, and Jennifer (Josh). Her legacy is further enriched by her cherished grandchildren, Myriah, Savannah, Daniel, Caleb, Madalynn, Kirsten, Maci Kay, Joey, and Joseph, and two precious great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Bonnie's mother, Geraldine Sexton, and her brothers, Wendall, Mark, and Brian, continue to hold her memory close, as do her many dear friends, including Morgan Johnsen, Christopher Sands, Chris Peters, and Wesley Orwig. Her extended family and a wide circle of friends also feel the deep void left by her passing. Bonnie's life was a testament to selfless love and kindness. She was known for her unwavering dedication to helping others, always putting their needs and wants before her own. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond people to the animals she adored. Bonnie had a special place in her heart for her four dogs and two cats and often dreamed of having enough land to rescue more of God's creatures. She found beauty and solace in the vastness of the desert, a landscape that mirrored her expansive heart and boundless empathy. Bonnie's love for animals and nature was a reflection of her gentle soul and her belief in the simple joys of life. In honoring Bonnie's life, we are reminded of her gift for lifting the spirits of those around her, the warmth she radiated, and the love she spread so freely. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire us all. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held to honor her memory and the love she shared with so many. As we gather to remember her, we do so with gratitude for having known such a remarkable woman whose light will forever guide our paths. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to local animal rescue organizations, a cause that Bonnie held dear to her heart. Bonnie Lynne (Sexton) Pate will forever be remembered with love and admiration. Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and boundless love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
