Bonnie Lynne (Sexton) Pate
May 3, 1960 — April 28, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Bonnie Lynne (Sexton) Pate, who left this world on April 28, 2026, at her beloved home in Fernley, Nevada. Born on May 3, 1960, in the picturesque town of Salinas, California, Bonnie was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bonnie was the cherished daughter of James and Geraldine Sexton. She was predeceased by her loving father, James Sexton, and her dear sister, Debbie Sexton, whose memories she held close to her heart. Bonnie's legacy lives on through her devoted husband, Virgil Pate, and their children Johnathan, Ryan, April, and Jennifer. Her nurturing spirit is carried forward by her nine grandchildren—Myriah, Savannah, Daniel, Caleb, Madelyn, Kirsten, Maci Kay, Joey, and Joseph—and her two great-grandchildren, whose lives will forever be enriched by their great-grandmother's loving example.
Bonnie's life was marked by her unwavering compassion and selflessness. She had a special affinity for animals, sharing her home with four dogs and two cats, and was known for her generous heart that welcomed any creature in need. Her love for the desert was as expansive as her capacity to care for others, and she found peace and solace in its vast landscapes.
Her kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of countless friends and acquaintances. Bonnie had an extraordinary ability to put others' needs before her own, a testament to her altruistic nature and the enormous love she shared freely with the world.
A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Fernley Desert Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located at 1000 Mission Way, Fernley, NV 89408. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the enduring spirit of a woman who gave so much of herself to others.
In this time of sorrow, Bonnie's family shares a heartfelt message: "Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has you in His keeping. We have you in our hearts, until the day we are united again. Love Always and Forever & Forever and Always, Virgil, Johnathan, Ryan, April & Jennifer."
Bonnie's memory will forever be a guiding light for those who were blessed to know her. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and selfless devotion, and her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us until we meet again.
