It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bonnie L. Rettke, who departed this life on June 7, 2026, at the age of 63. Bonnie slipped away quietly at her home in the comforting presence of her beloved dog, departing from natural causes. Her journey began on January 17, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, born to the late Virgil and Geraldine (Gerry) Rettke, whose love and values she carried forward throughout her life.
Bonnie grew up in the vibrant community of Minneapolis, a place she always called home. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1981, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and began to lay the foundation for a life characterized by kindness, dedication, and an unmistakable zest for life.
In 1996, Bonnie embarked on a fulfilling career at Land O' Lakes, Inc., where she served as a RD Senior Technologist. Her commitment and passion for her work were evident every day, contributing to the company's success and earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike.
Beyond her professional achievements, Bonnie's life was enriched by her deep love for animals. A devoted advocate for the voiceless, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life shared with her furry companions. Her home was a haven for animals, each one cherished and cared for with boundless affection.
Bonnie was known for her infectious smile that could light up the darkest room. She cherished her family, always finding time to gather, laugh, and celebrate life's joys with those she loved. Her playful spirit and warmth endeared her to many, making her a beloved sibling, aunt, cousin, and friend.
A memorial service to honor Bonnie's life will be held on July 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Anoka American Legion, located at 400 West Main Street, Anoka, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests donations be made to your local animal shelter, a cause close to Bonnie's heart and one that embodies her enduring spirit of compassion.
Bonnie will be missed dearly, but her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to resonate in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember Bonnie, let us carry forward her example of living life with joy and compassion.
