Bonnie Jean (Mitchell) White

January 22, 1953 — April 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Jean (Mitchell) White, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed from this world on April 20, 2026, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on January 22, 1953, in Parsons, Kansas, Bonnie’s journey was one of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Bonnie was the treasured daughter of the late John and Ella Mae Mitchell, whose loving spirits she carried forward throughout her life. She spent her formative years in Chanute, Kansas, where she graduated from Chanute High School in 1970. It was there, in the heart of Kansas, that she met the love of her life, David Alan White. On June 7, 1970, they embarked on a lifelong journey filled with love and partnership, raising three wonderful children together: Alan (Kim) White, Gidget (Randall) Lorett, and Holly Borton. Throughout her life, Bonnie wore many hats. She worked as a para in the schools and served as a rural mail carrier, but her greatest joy was found in supporting her husband, David, as they tackled various business ventures, rentals, and farming. Bonnie’s dedication to her family was unparalleled, and her nurturing spirit was felt by all who knew her. Bonnie had a magnetic warmth that drew people to her, her home always bustling with the aroma of homemade meals and the laughter of loved ones. Known for always having a meal ready and a hug waiting, Bonnie never let anyone leave her presence hungry or without a smile. Her legacy of kindness and generosity has left an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing her. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Brett, Andrew, Mikaella, Allie, Koby, Timothy, David, Jackson, Ella, and Grace were the apples of her eye, and her heart swelled with love for her great-grandchildren, Huxton Michael May and the eagerly anticipated Baby Bean. Bonnie was the epitome of resilience, joy, and love, even in the face of illness. She continued to rock and play with her beloved great-grandson, and her excitement knew no bounds as she awaited the arrival of another great-grandchild. Her strength and unwavering spirit were a testament to her character, and she will forever be remembered as the nicest, sweetest person, the best mom, and grandma anyone could ever ask for. She is survived by her beloved husband, David; her children and their spouses; her siblings, Bill (Sue) Mitchell and Beverly (Mike) McGee; and a legacy of ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Ella Mae Mitchell. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wickham Funeral Home. In honor of her generous spirit, memorial contributions may be made to the Carlie Almond Memorial Fund. As we say goodbye to Bonnie, we hold dear the memories of her boundless love and kindness. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Bonnie’s life was a testament to the power of love, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
