Born to Joseph Dornbusch and Virginia Purcell, Bonnie was raised in a family that embraced her with warmth and kinship. Her parents, along with her brothers Timothy and Joseph Jr., predeceased her, but Bonnie's spirit and love for her family endured.
Bonnie was a steadfast sister to Mike Dornbusch, Jeff Dornbusch, Carol Monday, and Karen Schroeder. Her legacy continues through her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a vast network of cousins who cherished her presence in their lives.
Throughout her career as a Criminal Investigator with the IRS, Bonnie distinguished herself with dedication and excellence. Her contributions were recognized through numerous awards and plaques, and she played a pivotal role in shaping the 1040 tax form during an influential trip to Washington, D.C. Her professional life was marked by integrity and a commitment to excellence that inspired those around her.
Bonnie found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. An avid NFL fan, she had a particular fondness for the Cincinnati Bengals, often cheering them on with a cold Hudy Delight in hand. She enjoyed the occasional seven and seven or a bitty totty, sharing laughter and stories with family and friends. Her love for classic TV shows like "The Golden Girls" and animated films such as "The Land Before Time" brought her comfort and joy.
Thanksgiving was a cherished time for Bonnie, where her delight in a turkey leg was a testament to her love for family gatherings. She relished the peace of camping by the lake, casting a fishing line, and savoring the tranquility of nature's embrace.
Bonnie was a model of selflessness and compassion, always ready to offer the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her life was a testament to the power of unconditional love and devotion, values she imparted to her family with grace and humility.
In Goshen, Ohio, Bonnie made her home a sanctuary of love for her niece and great-nieces and nephews, serving as a cherished grandmother figure and a constant source of wisdom and support. Her bond with her niece, which began from the earliest memories, was a profound connection that lasted more than 27 years, characterized by unyielding love and mutual care.
Though Bonnie never married or had children, her life was anything but solitary. She was a mother in every sense that mattered, nurturing and guiding those she loved with unwavering devotion. Her legacy is woven into the fabric of her family, a testament to the lives she shaped and the hearts she touched.
Bonnie's memory will endure in every Bengals game watched, every fishing trip taken, and every Thanksgiving celebrated. Her life taught us that love is the greatest measure of a person, and her love was vast and all-encompassing.
Bonnie's family will honor her life privately, cherishing the many memories and the lessons she imparted. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Bonnie's generous spirit.
Bonita Marie Dornbusch was more than a beloved aunt; she was a beacon of love and strength. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of family, and she will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
