Bonita (Bonnie) Jane Hinton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bonita Jane Hinton, known to her loved ones as Bonnie, who departed this world on July 15, 2026, at the age of 79. Bonnie was born on April 16, 1947, in the charming town of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She left us suddenly, following complications after a long and courageous battle with cancer, a fight she faced with unyielding grace and an unwavering spirit. Bonnie was the cherished daughter of the late William E. and Blenda T. Klimp. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, William Klimp. Her legacy lives on through her loving family: her son, Eric Hinton, her daughter, Heather Larson, and son-in-law, Grant Larson. She was a devoted sister to Caroline Binnebose and a cherished grandmother to Sarah Bonita Marler and William Eric Larson. Bonnie also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness. In 1967, Bonnie graduated from Alexandria Technical College with a focus on nutrition, a testament to her lifelong dedication to caring for others. Her career was diverse and dedicated; she contributed her skills to electronics assembly at Sperry Univac, served as a Medical Assistant at the University of Minnesota, worked in sterilization for the pharmaceutical industry, and managed medical files for a radiology clinic. Even in retirement, Bonnie's nurturing spirit led her to serve meals to patients at Alomere. Bonnie was a beacon of faith and community, remaining an active member of New Life Christian Church for over 24 years. Her spirituality and deep faith in Jesus guided her through life’s challenges and were the cornerstone of her optimism and resilience. A wonderful homemaker, Bonnie found joy in baking and preparing meals for her family and friends. Her love for home improvement and decorating was matched only by her delight in the company of her grandchildren and children in her community. The laughter and joy of children brought her immense happiness and fulfillment. Bonnie's indomitable spirit, feisty nature, and willingness to express her opinions were traits cherished by those who knew her. Despite her battle with cancer, not a day went by where she gave in to despair. Her optimism was infectious and her strength inspiring, leaving a legacy of hope and love for all who had the privilege to know her. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on July 25, 2026, at New Life Christian Church, located at 1910 County Rd 82 SE, Alexandria, MN 56308. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Bonnie are invited to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Bonnie's generous spirit and her commitment to making the world a better place. Bonnie Jane Hinton will forever be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
