It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Bonita B. Lurvey, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on December 15, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in the charming town of Brattleboro, Vermont, on September 28, 1949, Bonita was the cherished daughter of Stuart and Erma (Day) Whitaker. Bonita was a beacon of joy and warmth, known for her ability to light up any room with her infectious laughter and boundless energy. A graduate of Fall Mountain Regional High School in Langdon, NH, class of 1970, she carried her youthful enthusiasm and love for life into every endeavor she pursued. For over a decade, Bonita dedicated herself to her role as an office administrator at Troy Mills in Troy, NH, where she was admired for her diligence and unwavering camaraderie. Her life was richly blessed with love and family, and she found immense joy in the company of her children, John R. Flanders III of Louisville, Kentucky, and Noelle Blair, alongside her husband Mark, of Charlestown, NH. Bonita was a devoted and doting grandmother to her grandsons, Kenneth Flanders of Plainfield, NH, and Zachary Wayne Blair of Charlestown, NH. Her love and pride for them knew no bounds, and her presence will forever be cherished in their hearts. Bonita's passion for life was matched only by her love for horses and her excitement at watching the Fall Mountain Special Olympics basketball team, where she found inspiration and delight. She was a woman of great compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or a comforting word to those in need. She is survived by her dear sister Brenda Edwards and her husband Garvin of Winter Haven, Florida, and is fondly remembered by her many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Bonita was predeceased by her beloved partner, Wayne E. Luce, her parents, Stuart and Erma, her sisters Linda Muise and Rogeania Nason, and her brother Gary Whitaker. A celebration of Bonita's remarkable life will be held on May 27, 2026, at 12:30 PM at the Monadnock View Cemetery, located at 499 Park Ave, Keene, NH 03431. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in paying tribute to her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bonita’s memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, an organization close to her heart. Bonita's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
