It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bobby Rountree, a cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the Hospice of the Valley. Born on October 30, 1965, in Riverside, NJ, Bobby's life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Bobby was a beacon of light and laughter, blessed with an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished. His early years were spent in the warm embrace of his loving parents, Carl and Diane Schenkel, who instilled in him values of compassion, integrity, and humility. Though he experienced the profound loss of his father, Carl, his memory lived on through Bobby's enduring strength and character. On September 21, 1996, Bobby began a beautiful chapter of his life when he married the love of his life, Sophia. Their union was a remarkable journey of love and partnership that spanned 36 years, marked by shared dreams, mutual respect, and unyielding support for one another. Together, they created a sanctuary of love and warmth that embraced not only each other but everyone fortunate enough to know them. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife Sophia, who stood by his side with unwavering devotion throughout their life together. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Diane, whose boundless love and guidance shaped the remarkable man he became. His sister, Cynthia, shared a special bond with Bobby, filled with cherished memories and unwavering sibling affection. Bobby's legacy of love and laughter continues through his adored nieces, Alyssa and Bri, who brought him immense joy and pride. Throughout his life, Bobby touched the hearts of many with his genuine kindness, infectious smile, and gentle spirit. He was a man of quiet strength who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, always prioritizing the happiness and well-being of those around him. Whether it was through a heartfelt conversation, a shared meal, or a simple act of kindness, Bobby's presence was a gift to all who knew him. While our hearts ache with the loss of Bobby, we find solace in the beautiful memories he leaves behind and the love that will forever bind us. His spirit will continue to inspire us to live with grace, compassion, and a deep appreciation for the moments that truly matter. In honor of Bobby Rountree, let us celebrate the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered, always in our hearts, as we carry forward the lessons of love and compassion he so graciously taught us. A private memorial service will be held to honor Bobby's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of the Valley, whose compassionate care provided comfort and peace in Bobby's final days.
