It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Bobby Plybon on May 15, 2026, at his cherished home. Born on February 1, 1954, in Huntington, West Virginia, Bobby was the beloved son of Rocky and Robert Plybon. He graced this world with his kindness, wisdom, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community. Bobby was a man of great intellect and compassion, having graduated from Cabell Huntington University with a degree that equipped him to nurture minds both in the classroom and in the fields. His dual career as a teacher and a farmer was a testament to his love for cultivating growth, whether in the rich soil of West Virginia or in the hearts of his students. For 55 wonderful years, Bobby shared his life with his beloved wife, Roxie Plybon, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a life steeped in love and adventure, finding joy in the simple pleasures of fireside evenings, the tranquility of fishing trips, and the shared peace of camping under the stars. These cherished memories remain etched in the hearts of all who knew them. Bobby's legacy of love and kindness lives on through his surviving family members, including his three cherished granddaughters, Alanis, Autumn, and Gracie, who were the light of his life. His wisdom and gentle spirit also continue to guide his two great-grandchildren, who will grow up with stories of a great-grandfather who exemplified the golden rule: "Treat people the way you wanted to be treated." This simple yet profound message is a guiding star that Bobby imparted to his children and grandchildren, a testament to the man he was and the values he held dear. In addition to his beloved Roxie, Bobby was predeceased by his grandson, Roko, whose memory he held close to his heart. Though he is no longer with us, Bobby’s spirit remains a constant presence, a gentle reminder of the love that binds us all. As we reflect on Bobby's life, we celebrate a man who taught us the importance of kindness, the joy of family, and the beauty of nature. His legacy is a tapestry of love, woven with the threads of every life he touched. A private family ceremony will be held to honor Bobby’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to local educational and agricultural initiatives, ensuring that Bobby’s passion for teaching and farming will continue to inspire and nurture future generations. Bobby Plybon's life was a testament to the values he cherished—love, kindness, and respect. As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we find solace in the memories and lessons he leaves behind, confident that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
